Emerging from the vibrant underground scene of Belgium’s early ’90s, Antwerp-based producer and DJ Marius has long been one of the country’s most quietly influential house music figures. From the beginning, he carved out a signature sound — a warm, analog blend of rhythmic drive and melodic soul — shaped by both the raw energy of US house and the mystique of Belgium’s rave heritage.

A true craftsman, Marius built his world using a hybrid setup of analog synthesizers, drum machines, and early digital tools, creating tracks that felt deep, funky, and unmistakably human. His work with the experimental collective Mayaku (alongside Koenie and Rubba J) further cemented his reputation for forward-thinking, atmospheric house long before the genre’s modern revival.

Though always respected in Antwerp’s scene, it wasn’t until recently that his ’90s catalog — once rare finds in record-shop crates — resurfaced and exploded onto the global stage. With the reissue of his Crucial Traxx series, titans such as Dam Swindle, ANOTR, Chris Stussy, Jamie Jones, Disclosure, Barry Can’t Swim, Salute, Chloé Caillet, Known Artist, Sidney Charles, Shonky, Danny Howard and many more began championing his sound, revealing just how ahead of its time his music truly was.

This renewed spotlight hasn’t just revived his past — it has reaffirmed his place in today’s scene. Still an exceptional DJ and a lifelong vinyl devotee, Marius brings decades of knowledge, groove, and instinct to the booth. His sets bridge eras with effortless authenticity: raw, soulful, percussive, always rooted in the foundations of real house music.
