The French label, founded by Crowd Control in 2018, has become one of the country’s most well-renowned outfits. Wholly independent, a small group of artists reside at its core, flying the flag for grassroots music across the world. From Jesse Bru to Baka G, B From E and more, an enduring theme links both the artists and label alike: quality music, quality people. Its origins can be traced back to 2014, in the beautiful surroundings of Lyon, where a small collective was born. Events soon followed over several years, culminating in a pivotal moment in summer 2017. It was time for a rebrand, with long-term designer Valdodouc leading on what would become the now iconic Happiness Therapy branding. Inspired by iconic labels from the ‘90s, Crowd Control says: “We spent months getting everything right. Getting the logo right, getting the design just so. We didn’t want to look like any other label, and we wanted to be known for quality music. So when you go into the store and buy a Happiness Therapy record, you know you've got a quality record.” And so, the label was born. In June 2018, the first release landed in stores. In 2020, the first compilations arrived, followed by Jesse Bru’s maiden album that same year. Fast forward to 2023 and 5 Years Of Happiness hit the shelves, a nine-track VA featuring imprint favorites and several exclusive collaborations. It sets the tone for a European tour, a musical escapade of 2 months and 15 dates across Europe !
